Abstract |

We have proposed here an automated system that verifies each Indian Currency note to be either a counterfeit or a genuine note. The verification process is carried out in three steps: 1. The dimensions of the sample are verified against a template. 2. The note is photographed under Ultra-Violet light and normal light, and all the key features of the note are extracted using the Canney Edge Detector algorithm. The important templates are run across the whole note to find the matches. Proper thresholding is done to allow changes in light. UV feature comparison is also performed. 3. The third step involves the texture analysis of the note that can tell about the tone of ink printing the note. This automated three step procedure obviates the need for human intervention. |
