  Abstract :

RFID, short for Radio Frequency Identification, is a rapidly evolving technology that can dramatically improve operational efficiencies and customer service. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) offers the promise of hands-free tracking of inventory throughout the supply chain. RFID technology will be a critical tool for combating drug counterfeiting and improving public safety. The question for pharmaceutical companies is where to start and how best to deploy RFID technology in complex supply chains. RFID promises to save billions and radically change the way the supply chain works.
